Aren’t there some great movies out at the moment? I want to see so many. The Reader, Changeling, Doubt, Frost/Nixon, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Milk, Rachel Getting Married…Seriously, the list goes on.
As such, I found myself more interested in this years Oscars than others. Every actor and movie nominated seemed deserving. I’ve seen Slumdog Millionaire and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and thought both were brilliant. How does the Academy decide which nominee deserves the award more than another?
One winner I’d like to point out is Man on Wire, a documentary on tightrope walker Phillipe Petit. He appeared on Enough Rope with Andrew Denton last year, and is both fascinating and inspiring. You can read the transcript or listen to the mp3 here.
But back to the Oscars. Do you agree with the winners?
