Tamara Henriques Gumboots

Winter is definitely on its way! It’s an awful day in Sydney today – blustery and grey. I woke up to strong winds rattling the windows, and rain threatening from all sides.

It’s the sort of day you need something bright and playful to cheer you up. Which is where these gumboots by Tamara Henriques come in. I think they’re a brilliant idea because she takes an ordinarily utilitarian shoe and turns it into something fun. You can walk around without worrying about the bottom of your jeans getting wet, or ruining your shoes.

Considering Australia doesn’t get huge amounts of rain compared to England (where Tamara lives), it might seem strange to invest in gumboots. But trust me, on the days you need them, they are a god-send.
