Did you watch The Brain That Changes Itself on SBS television on Tuesday evening? (Unfortunately I missed it but thanks to modern technology I’ll watch it tonight in my own time - you can too by following the link below)
I’ve become absolutely fascinated by the idea that our brains can be rewired till the day we die after I attended a session with Dr Norman Doidge, author of the book by the same name, at The Sydney Writer’s Festival in 2009. I was, along with many hundreds more in the auditorium that day, so stimulated by what he had to say that I wrote a post with some of Dr Doidge’s tips for all of us to follow (just scroll down the link and you’ll come to the right section.)
It’s all just so amazing and hopeful. Most of us fear the loss of brain function through age, disease or injury. It’s such a scary prospect and I think we’d all like to take what preventative steps we can.
If like me you missed the programme on SBS you can watch it here.
(Note that this programme will only stay on the SBS website for a short time so if you’re interested watch it soon.)
