Grating Nutmeg

There is a world of difference between pre-ground nutmeg and the taste and aroma of freshly grated nutmeg. You can use the finest grating surface on you grater at home or buy a special nutmeg grater - in either case watch your fingers! The other option is to buy a nutmeg mill that works just like a pepper mill. Whole nutmegs are found in some supermarkets but my preference is to buy them from Herbie’s Spices. Their product, and service, is great.
